How come a book has never been written about Ghana's Brazil 2018 World Cup debacle? We set up Commissions of Enquiry whose White Papers are never seen, and whose findings are quickly ignored. We "forgive" the politicians, administrators, players AND journalists whose antics did much to turn a farce into a tragedy.
This newsletter is a good start. But a book written by you would be better: it would set everything in proper context by saying things as they are, identifying the guilty and exonerating the innocent. It would also serve as the permanent reference that the Commission's Report should have been.
By the way, I hope you know that other teams also quarreled about money, including our Super Eagles! I'm sure you heard about their refusal to train for the match against France until they had been "settled." I wish more teams would imitate the Europeans, especially the Germans, who have a bonus template worked out long before the beginning of any tournament in order to avoid rubbish like this.
I listen to you assiduously on "The Big Issue," as well as "Sports Panorama" which you hosted in 2015, and I know that this newsletter will be superlative.
